ASSISTANT COACH – STRENGTH & CONDITIONING TRAINER
For anyone that knows this man, you will agree with us that he is the nicest fella about! Chris Methorst is one of our awesome Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coaches. He is a dedicated father of two girls, with a third baby on the way. Metho’s dedication to his family, only filters downs to his dedication to our Move Strong athletes!
“I grew up in Scottsdale and Devonport. I’ve spent the last 5 years in Townsville in the Army as a Combat Engineer. In that time I got to do a bunch of different courses, one of which was the Combat Fitness Leaders course. This is where I found that I quite like getting people better at moving and helping them to achieve their goals – whether that is getting bigger, smaller, stronger, faster, fitter or learning how to squat, press or more importantly deadlift
I am currently completing a level one in Strength and Conditioning.
I started boxing and training when I was 15, but I started taking training seriously after I dislocated my shoulder and had to have surgery. From that injury, I decided never to have that happen again, so I learnt to heal my body through rehab and physio. After that I decided to learn the big lifts through power lifting, which led to strongman movements, which led to the Olympic lifts (still trying to master those ones!).
If you see me at the gym come say hello and if you would like to get better at something I would love to help!”
